Visualization
Visualization is, in a way, similar to daydreaming. The mind is allowed to create a picture of something we wish to achieve. Simple visualizations can be used for relaxing the body, preparing for sleep, grounding our scattered thoughts or physical energy, finding an inner sanctuary to connect with our subconscious mind, or improving concentration. It is a natural process which we can control with our thoughts.
We all have a dominant sense when working with visualizations. Some people will “see” a picture unfold before them, others will experience their visualization with a sense of “smell”, or “hear” the description of it. So when directed to visualize do so in your own way.
Creative Visualization
This term is currently used to mean a visualization in which the person holds a picture of a specific goal in mind as if it already exists to manifest a desired scenario or object. This thought becomes dominant in a person’s mind and is repeated several times a day along with an affirmation. As we concentrate on this goal we begin to choose paths which will lead toward it. We work to transform conscious thought into physical reality. “Form follows thought” or “Manifesting our desires” are phrases often heard in creative visualization. As you work toward your goal you begin to change thinking patterns and physical actions. You make conscious choices which will lead to your goal.
